Jennifer Aniston sought support from family and friends as the actress finds herself still heartbroken over dear pal and late Friends co-star, Matthew Perry.
Following the first death anniversary of the late actor, on October 28th, 2024, The Morning Show star has been feeling more gloom, especially with the holiday season inching closer, revealed a source close to the actress.
“Jen’s always cherished the holidays a special time for her, they’re also a time when she tends to get extra sentimental,” the insider told InTouch Weekly.
“He was just always there, in some way, and she looked forward to that. It’s surreal and sad knowing he won’t be,” the source added.
“Last year the holidays were so tough, the grief was still so fresh. But the truth is, it hasn’t faded the way she hoped it might. In some ways, it’s almost like she’s mourning him all over again.”
Aniston and Perry shared a close friendship for over three decades. In his memoir, Perry had revealed that the two of them had a holiday tradition in which would get together in private to catch up.
The insider shared that even when they couldn’t get together, “they’d usually get on the phone and have a good long catch up.”
Aniston also used to, “count on getting a goofy holiday card from him.”
On his first death anniversary, the We’re the Millers star posted tribute on Instagram.
She wrote “1 Year” as she shared the link to The Matthew Perry Foundation, which was set up less than one week after his death to fulfill the late actor’s wish of helping others fight addiction.
