The longtime friends and former co-stars’ children, Eric Murphy and Jasmin Lawrence, shared the exciting news of their engagement on Saturday, November 30, via Instagram, giving fans a glimpse of the romantic proposal.
In a heartfelt video set to Eric Benét’s Spend My Life with You, Eric revealed a room adorned with candles, rose bouquets, and flower petals, creating the perfect backdrop for his proposal. Jasmin’s reaction said it all as she walked into the setup before Eric got down on one knee, presenting a ring that left her exclaiming, “It’s beautiful. Oh my gosh!” The couple embraced and celebrated as Jasmin said yes.
“We’re engaged!! God truly blessed us with a love that feels like destiny,” the couple wrote in their joint Instagram caption. They expressed their excitement for the future, thanking everyone who helped make the moment special.
The pair first made their relationship public in June 2021, and Jasmin later revealed it was her uncle — not their famous dads — who introduced them. “We bonded on a lot of things,” she shared, adding that their friendship naturally grew into love.
Martin Lawrence once joked about his daughter’s relationship on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, quipping that Eddie should foot the bill for any future wedding.
