Adrien Brody recently won a Critics Circle Award, and during his acceptance speech, he remembered the firefighters battling the raging fires in LA.
The star received the trophy for his performance in The Brutalist. “I’m sorry it’s always so hard to accept something like this when there’s so much suffering in the world,” he shared.
“My heart goes out to all the families and the animals, and our colleagues,” the Peaky Blinders star added. “Most of the homes on the west side, east side of PCH are gone, from Palisades on. This is our community.”
“I just want to thank and commend the bravery of the first responders and sacrifices and their meaningful work that deserves our recognition tonight,” he concluded.
At least five people have died, and tens of thousands of people fled as the blazes engulfed different parts of Los Angeles.
