Just over a month after Rihanna expressed her desire to collaborate with Billie Eilish, the 22-year-old singer returned the admiration, calling Rihanna “the greatest of all time” in a recent profile for Complex Magazine.
Eilish admitted that she initially thought Rihanna’s comments, made during an interview with Access Hollywood at the launch of Fenty X Puma in October, weren’t real.
In regards to this, she laughed and said, “I literally thought it was AI. I’ve never met Rihanna. She’s literally my idol.”
According to Daily Mail, Rihanna gushed during the interview by saying, “If I could only do a song with Billie Eilish. She’s so good. She’s my complete dream collab. I don’t even answer that question about dream collaborations because it’s always Rihanna in my head.”
Meanwhile, the Grammy winner went on to express disbelief over Rihanna’s remarks by saying, jokingly, “Honestly, what do you mean, ‘If only’?! It’s as if I’ve been saying no. Rihanna! Riri!? I’ll literally do anything you want.”
As per the outlet, while Eilish is not widely known for collaborations, she recently teamed up with Charli XCX on the track Guess, praising the 2024 album Brat as “f****** awesome.”
Additionally, she described the collaboration process as seamless and reflective of her presence for working independently, despite her deep admiration for other artists.
Furthermore, as fans eagerly await whether Eilish and Rihanna will bring their mutual admiration to the studio, the exchange highlights the growing camaraderie and respect between two of the music industry’s biggest stars, as per the publication.
