Britney Spears’ and late actress Brittany Murphy’s Hollywood mansion with a haunting history, has been listed for sale at nearly $18 million.
The sprawling property, located on Sunset Plaza Drive, has undergone extensive renovations, which a Zillow listing described as a “complete metamorphosis”, including a newly redesigned exterior.
According to Daily Mail, Spears sold the mansion fully furnished to Murphy in 2003 for $3.85 million, citing an unsettling experience with “a bad spirit” that drove her to leave the home permanently.
Moreover, Murphy spent her final days at the residence before collapsing there in December 2009. She was later pronounced dead at 32, with her death attributed to untreated pneumonia, anemia, and drug intoxication from prescription and over-the-counter medications.
Additionally, tragedy struck again just five months later when Murphy’s husband, Simon Monjack, died at the same residence at the age of 40.
Following their deaths, theories surrounding severe mold in the home emerged but were ruled out by the medical examiner’s office in 2010.
As per the publication, the mansion’s current owners, who purchased the property in 2010, have restored it, attempting to leave behind its dark history.
