Cynthia Erivo has become the latest celebrity to support singing in cinema, as her movie Wicked is currently playing in theatres.

Her support for the reportedly growing number of fans belting out the lyrics in the screenings came after she was asked about her views on the matter that has divided fans online.

“Good! I’m OK with it,” she told the hosts of NBC broadcast on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York.

“We spent this long singing it ourselves, it’s time for everyone else to join in. It’s wonderful,” the actress added.

Earlier, Dwayne Johnson also said he was in favour of singing during the film.
