Cynthia Erivo reveals the pact she made with Ariana Grande for Wicked

Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande went into Wicked with a clear mission — no drama allowed.

Grande and Erivo — who portray Glinda the Good and the Wicked Witch of the West respectively in the upcoming movie — made a “pact” to keep things smooth on set, ensuring their working relationship was built on trust and teamwork.

During last week’s appearance on Scott Evans’ House Guest YouTube series, Erivo opened up about how the pair approached filming with a no-nonsense mentality.

“Neither one of us wanted that,” Erivo, 37, revealed. “We both came into this with the decision that we would do this together as honestly as we possibly could.”

The deal wasn’t just about camaraderie — it was also about having each other’s backs when difficult moments arose on set. “We built a real partnership,” Erivo added, sharing how they took turns saying “no” when it came to tough production decisions.

Their connection has only strengthened, with the duo making joint appearances at major events, including the Met Gala. Erivo even admitted to Evans that she’s become a Grande superfan, saying, “She’s one of the most intelligent and brilliant people when it comes to music.”

With their partnership sealed, Erivo further noted that she trusted only Grande to help make technical decisions about her vocals — a testament to their deep mutual respect.
