DDG responds to Halle Bailey after she ‘overreacted’ over son’s protection

Halle Bailey reflected on her initial comments on X saying she might have ‘overreacted’

DDG has finally addressed Halle Bailey’s recent comments over their son’s protection.

On Thursday, November 7, DDG, whose full name is Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., posted a video to promote his upcoming song What U Bad For.

During the video, he defended his ex, Bailey, who had expressed frustration after their nine-month-old son, Halo, appeared in a livestream with his father.

“One thing I don’t like is when people hate on Halle,” the 27-year-old rapper said. “I don’t care if people think she’s wrong or not or if I think she’s wrong or right.”

DDG, who shares Halo with the 24-year-old actress, explained that he can’t tolerate seeing her being bullied online, which he had struggled with for three years.

“She could be going through something mentally after having a kid that I can’t understand as a man,” the ARGUMENTS artist continued. “So, when situations like this happen, I try to handle it with as much grace as possible because Halo needs her.”

“I need her, we need each other to create a childhood that’s safe, fun, and memorable for him,” the influencer said, calling his son “the biggest blessing” in his life and said he has “unconditional love and respect” for Bailey.

DDG’s comments came one day after the Little Mermaid star expressed her anger on Wednesday, November 6, after their son was featured in Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 2 event on Twitch.

During the livestream, DDG briefly brought Halo on camera, and the footage was later shared on YouTube, sparking Bailey’s concerns.

“I wasn’t told or notified, and I am extremely upset to have my baby in front of millions of people,” Bailey wrote. “I am his mother and protector, and I’m saddened that I wasn’t notified, especially when I am out of town.”

The next day, before DDG could respond, Bailey took to social media again to clarify her earlier remarks.

“Yesterday, maybe I did overreact and shouldn’t have brought it here,” she wrote on X, adding, “I know that Halo is always safe with his dad.” She also thanked Kai Cenat for his love for their son.
