Florence Pugh opened up about how her non-stop marathon for building her career in Hollywood has left her life spinning.
In a recent interview with The Times, the actress recalled the sacrifices she made in her personal life, particularly in her love life, including her breakup from longtime beau Zach Braff in 2022.
Pugh, who recently wrapped up the press tour of her new movie, We Live in Time, the actress had a moment of realization that she had been neglecting her personal matters for her acting career.
“I had this opportunity to look at my life away from my work, and I realized, OK, I need to wake the f*** up,” she admitted.
Sharing her career goals, she revealed that her main focus was on becoming the best actor and running for awards, however, now she wants to think outside her work.
“I had to look away from my career, from movies, from wanting to be this kind of actor, that kind of actor,” Pugh continued.
“I want to make sure that the things I need to do—whether children, family, or change in relationships—are addressed now. I realized I need to make changes.”
Following a decade of continuous work, Florence has accepted the necessity of work-life balance.
“It’s only ten years in that I can now go, ‘Oh, I need to do a bit of my life,'” she added.
