Jennifer Garner strongly advises against marrying a man thinking you can change him.
The 13 Going on 30 star made an appearance on the Lipstick on the Rim podcast, during which she shared her mother Patricia’s words of wisdom.
“Never expect a man — don’t marry a man thinking you can change him,” Garner told listeners on November 12.
Garner, 52, then joked that she needed “to work on that one,” seemingly referring to her past marriages to Felicity actor Scott Foley and Oscar winner Ben Affleck.
The Deadpool & Wolverine actress went on about “vintage Pat Garner” sayings a little more, noting, “They all come from Mrs. Ingalls from ‘Little House on the Prairie’ or ‘Anne of Green Gables’ or all of the above.”
Those quotes included “Weeping may last through the night, but joy comes in the morning” and “Happiness is your own responsibility.”
Garner also made remarks on her four-year-long marriage to Forey, saying they “would probably still be together” if they didn’t live the “fast-lane life.”
The actress is seemingly on good terms with Affleck–father of her kids Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12–as the exes spent Thanksgiving together for a charity drive in Los Angeles.
The Batman actor was later spotted heading towards Garner’s home after the Thursday event.
