King Charles paid tribute to health workers in his first heartfelt Christmas speech almost a year after cancer diagnosis.

The monarch defied years-old Royal traditions by delivering his Christmas message from outside a royal residence.

Describing the move as as “incredibly rare,” royal correspondent Cameron Walker highlighted how Charles focused his speech on healthcare and community.

The monarch also reflected the royal family’s personal health challenges this year, including his and Kate Middleton’s respective cancer diagnosis.

“The huge theme was community and indeed health,” he told GB News, adding that the monarch showed gratitude for “the selflessness of the doctors and nurses” who provided support throughout the year.

Cameron further added how Charles thanked medical teams for providing “strength, care and comfort” to both him and the Princess of Wales throughout the year.

He said the King’s speech was focused on just health issues experiences by the Royal family members but the universal human experiences.

“Of course, the King and the Princess of Wales are not the only people in the world going through cancer diagnosis in the year of 2024,” Cameron said.

“All of us go through some sort of suffering at some point in our lives.”
