Matt Willis breaks silence on addiction, sobriety, and life lessons from his wife

Matt Willis, an acclaimed musician, actor, and television personality, recently opened up about how his wife Emma had to step in and call out his “ridiculous” morning routine.

While illuminating Daily Mail’s Life of Bryony podcast with his appearance, the 41-year-old singer revealed that he used to wake up at 4:30 am for an ice bath, workout, meditation, a sauna session, an update in his gratitude journal, and finally a supplement routine.

After sharing his morning routine, the Crashed the Wedding hitmaker confessed that Emma had to talk to him, saying, “I had to have a firm telling off about my morning routine because it was getting a bit out of hand.”

Willis went on to admit, “It was literally four hours long; it was ridiculous.”

Moving forward, the She Wants to Be Me crooner talked about feeling much better after getting rid of his addiction to alcohol and cocaine.

He commented by saying, “Life is pretty awesome right now. You know, and that’s achievable for people.”

“And I think it’s how you get that message to the struggling addict, the struggling alcoholic, you know. And I think that was what kind of made me want to do it, you know, in a way,” Willis concluded by saying.

For the unversed, prior to his 25th birthday, the Allies actor went to rehab three times, and one time was right before tying the knot with Emma, The Voice presenter, in 2008.

It is pertinent to mention that even though he has achieved sobriety, Willis relapsed once again in 2017 during the Busted reunion tour when his youngest child was not even a year old.
