Miley Cyrus reclaims an iconic fashion moment at the Grammys

Miley Cyrus made a stunning statement at the 2024 Grammys while performing on her 2023 Flowers after standing victorious.

The 32-year-old singer bought the famous Bob Mackie dress from the archives of 2002 in a new auction that she wore at the 2024 Grammy Awards.

The dress was part of the “Hollywood Legends: Unmistakably Mackie” collection by Turner Classic Movies and Julien’s Auctions.

The collection has Mackie’s award-winning designs, and some of the sale money goes to MusicCares, a nonprofit organization that helps artists in need.

The silver dress had a bralette, a cutout at the chest, and tassels hanging from the skirt.

Cyrus donned the dress after winning her first Grammy for Flowers in the category of best pop solo performance.

Later, she also stood victorious by winning the record of the year award for the song, making her a two-time Grammy winner.

In a press release, Cyrus quipped, “This dress represents more than a performance — it’s a celebration of the relationship between music, artistry and glamour.”

While shedding light on her performance, the Heart of Glass singer added, “This performance was a pivotal moment in my life and to have Bob Mackie’s support in securing it means the world to me.”

Moreover, the 88-year-old designer articulated his thoughts, saying, “Miley’s performance at the 2024 GRAMMY Awards marked an unforgettable moment in her career. As the designer of this dress, I couldn’t imagine it on anyone else. That girl was born to perform!”

It is pertinent to mention that several other stars have worn Mackie’s creations over the years, including Cher, Diana Ross, Pink, and Tina Turner.
