Prince Andrew has released his big statement after the Duke of York landed in new scandal related to UK’s national security.
According to a report by Reuters, a businessman who had forged close links with Prince Andrew and was authorised to act on his behalf to seek investors in China has been banned from Britain on national security grounds.
The 50-year-old man, who has been granted anonymity and is named only as H6, was taken off a flight from Beijing to London in February 2023 and told that Britain intended to ban him from the country. This happened the following month.
Amid these reports, Prince Andrew’s office released a statement to clear his stance.
Royal expert Cameron Walker took to X, formerly Twitter handle and shared Andrew’s statement.
He tweeted, “NEW: A statement from Prince Andrew’s office said: ‘The Duke of York followed advice from His Majesty’s Government and ceased all contact with the individual after concerns were raised.’”
“The Duke met the individual through official channels with nothing of a sensitive nature ever discussed. He is unable to comment further on matters relating to national security.”
