Prince Harry has been told his father King Charles is not interested in reconciliation as he navigates professional life separate from Meghan Markle.
According to a royal expert, the monarch cannot afford the publicity that Harry, the Duke of Sussex, would bring with himself if he welcomes him back to the Royal family fold.
Noting how the Sussexes have changed their strategy as they refrain from discussing the Royal family in public, royal biographer Hugo Vickers said that the couple has realized their views have “lost mileage.”
However, it might not be enough for Harry to reunite with his family as the expert noted that he needs to take the first step in ending the feud.
“He’s [Harry] the one who needs to pull himself together and extend the olive branch,” he told The Sun. “He’s [Harry] the one who needs to pull himself together and extend the olive branch because he is the one making it difficult between them.”
However, Vickers said that reuniting with his “darling boy” is not on Charles’ priority list as their reconciliation would divert the focus of the public from the King.
“The most successful members of the royal family are the ones who support the King in what he’s doing, and they don’t compete with him,” he added.
