Queen Camilla will not allow her husband King Charles to abdicate for his elder son Prince William, it has been disclosed.
According to a report by Us Weekly, per SheKnows, that Queen Camilla apparently wants to stay in power as long as possible.
The insider told the publication, “She loves her responsibilities. Her whole life, she has always wanted to be queen, so she doesn’t want to let it go so fast.”
The report further claims despite King Charles cancer battle, Camilla doesn’t want to relinquish her role to Kate Middleton.
Royal expert Robert Hardman claims “tense relationship” between Kate and Queen Camilla and believes that Camilla will “carry on with a public role but obviously within a different capacity,” once Charles steps down.
But a royal insider believes that the future king and queen will “reevaluate” Camilla’s role. It’s possible that Camilla could be sidelined more than she would want.
The outlet went on reporting Camilla will retain her crown for now, but it looks like the Prince and Princess of Wales are inching closer to the throne.
The fresh claims come amid reports Prince William “is preparing behind the scenes for when his ascension happens.”
The Us Weekly quoted a source as saying “Like his father, he takes being a success in the royal role very seriously.”
