The Deadpool franchise has been a major success. However, its star, Ryan Reynolds, suggests he is unsure about the fourth installment.

Appearing on Variety’s Actors on Actors with Andrew Garfield, he says he prefers to step into a supporting actor role in someone else’s film rather than centering a whole movie on his character.

“I see Deadpool as a supporting character, much more than he is the main [character]. We center him sometimes because that’s what they want, but you can’t center him unless you take everything away from him,” the Green Lantern star explains.

“You have to create a situation where he is so much the underdog, and I don’t think I can do that again.”

Ryan also drops the name of the project he wants to appear as a supporting cast.

“If he comes back, it’s gonna be in someone else’s movie. Channing Tatum, so excited to play Gambit, and I would happily be a fifth banana in his movie or anyone else’s,” the actor added.

It is not the first time the star has opened up about the future of the Deadpool franchise.

“Oh now, bite your tongue,” he told ExtraTV when asked about the possibility of the fourth installment.

“That’s a… I would love that but there’s a reason it’s been six years since the last one. It just sort of swallows my life whole and I have four kids that I wouldn’t mind introducing myself to at some point, just spend a little time walking them to and from school,” he said.
