Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs demands shocking prison rights amid mounting allegations

Sean “Diddy” Combs is facing more difficult times behind the bars while fighting to stay out of jail.

According to Deadline, the 55-year-old rapper, who is in prison on sex trafficking charges, has asked for more screen time.

Now, Diddy requested a federal judge for access to a laptop in his jail cell at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC).

“We write on behalf of Mr. Combs to request that the Court direct the MDC to provide Mr. Combs with the laptop prepared for him by the government and allow him to use that laptop in his unit, consistent with the way other inmates on his unit are permitted to use their laptops,” his defense lawyer Marc Agnifilo wrote in a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian.

Angifilo stated, “Two months after he was charged and detained, on November 25, 2024, the government provided the MDC with a laptop that Mr. Combs can use to review discovery, take notes related to his case, and otherwise assist in his defense.”

Diddy’s lawyer, who previously defended former IMF head Dominique Strauss-Kahn in his rape trial, added, “In the nine days since then, Mr. Combs has still not been provided with the laptop despite numerous inquiries by defense counsel.”

For the unversed, Diddy is facing life in prison if found guilty at his trial, which is set to begin on May 5, 2025.

He is charged with racketeering, sex trafficking, and transporting individuals for prostitution.

The former music mogul, who pleaded not guilty after his arrest on September 16, has been held at the MDC for almost three months.

He is also facing dozens of civil lawsuits that include his alleged involvement in celebrity-attended, drug-filled, and videotaped parties known as “freak offs.”

However, despite serious allegations, the defense wants the court to order MDC officials to let Diddy use the laptop as per his needs and desires.

In addition, Diddy’s lawyers, led by Agnifilo and Teny Geragos, asked the court to stop MDC officials from giving prosecutors “visitation forms” for attorney meetings with Diddy.

The defense team claimed these forms could include information that is “potentially privileged.”

It is pertinent to mention that this new issue arose just hours before the defense filed a request to dismiss the charges against Diddy, whose $50 million bail was recently denied for the third time.

The defense is also asked for a new hearing to address complaints about how Diddy has been treated.
