Sir Rod Stewart just mourned a loss this Christmas.
The iconic musician paid a heartfelt tribute to music producer and his dear pal, Richard Perry, who passed away at the age of 82.
As per PEOPLE magazine, Perry died in Los Angeles hospital, on Tuesday due to a cardiac arrest. He has worked with Rod as well as the legendary The Beatles, maximizing “his time here” as stated by his friend, Daphna Kastner, who confirmed the news of the producer’s demise.
Taking to his official Instagram account, the Young Turks hitmaker, wrote in his message, “Dearest Richard, farewell, my dear buddy. They say in life a man is lucky if he can count his true friends on one hand, and you were certainly one of them.”
He continued, “Now I’ve lost you, and I’m devastated. We played and worked so closely together for so many years, creating some of the most memorable music together.”
Concluding his rather sentimental tribute, Sir Rod Stewart further penned, “You were there when Penny and I first started dating, encouraging our relationship. We are both in tears as I post this farewell.”
