Squid Game, Netflix’s hit series, returned in December with a new star studded cast.

With the action packed season came tense fights and brawls, including one which caused a real-life injury.

Korean actor, Im Siwan, who portrayed the character, Player 333, sat down for an interview with StarNews.

Player 333 is a fraudulent crypto influencer who has gone bankrupt, and has caused several others to lose their money as well.

One of the people he tricked included the rapper, Thanos, played by Korean artist T.O.P.

In the chaotic bathroom scene where Thanos attacks Player 333 for his faulty advice, the latter manages to grab on to a fork, with which he takes the life of the rapper.

Im revealed that he and T.O.P had actually prepared for the scene through an action school. However, things went wrong as he explained, “When you’re filming an action scene, that moment when they say ‘shoot’ is the biggest opportunity for an actor—it’s the moment when you have to really go all in. Because of that, both of us were completely absorbed in the scene.”

He continued, “While we were shooting, we even ended up getting a little bit airborne. Just a little. But in the process, (Choi) Seung Hyun hyung fractured his rib. Honestly, it was his heroic effort through injury.”

The Squid Game star expressed his sympathy towards his colleague, stating that he had once attained a similar injury as well.

Im concluded that T.O.P’s dedication only proved his professionalism as a long-term celebrity.
