Taylor Swift has officially closed the book on her record-breaking Eras Tour.
The international pop sensation, 34, brought the monumental journey to an emotional end on Sunday, December 8, with a sold-out performance at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver. Wrapping up a nearly two-year run that saw her perform 149 shows across five continents, Swift incorporated a special mash-up of Long Live, New Year’s Day, and The Manuscript, her final surprise song.
Swifties noted the significance of this choice, as the tour’s first surprise song was Tim McGraw. Tim McGraw also happens to be the first ever song of Swift’s discography, while The Manuscript is the last to date.
In a heartfelt nod to the tour’s legacy, Swift changed the lyrics of Long Live from “It was the end of a decade” to “It was the end of an era, but the start of an age.”
During the final show, the multi-Grammy-winner expressed her gratitude to the fans who made the tour a historic success, per multiple fan-made videos
“We’ve gotten to perform for over 10 million people on this tour,” she shared, calling it “the most exciting, powerful, electrifying, intense, most challenging thing I’ve ever done in my entire life.”
Swift’s Eras Tour, which began in March 2023 in Glendale, Arizona, shattered records to become the highest-grossing tour of all time, generating over $2 billion and leaving an indelible mark on pop culture.
